Pricing and Booking Questions
Money decides whether people pick up the phone, so those answers come first. Four below cover how quoting works, how you pay and where we travel.
Call (07) 3067 4272What does a plumbing job cost?
You see the full price in writing before we touch anything, and the figure you approve is the one you pay, with the fault, access and parts deciding the number.
How does quoting work on the day?
Our plumber looks over the job first, works out what it needs and hands you a written figure, so no work starts until you have read it and said yes.
How do I pay once the job is done?
Payment happens on site by card or EFTPOS as soon as the work is finished, so there is no invoice to chase later and no waiting on a bank transfer.
Which suburbs around Griffin do you cover?
Our regular run takes in Mango Hill, Clontarf, Brighton, Bald Hills and Murrumba Downs, and each of those five neighbours is booked and quoted in exactly the same way as every other job.
Services and Coverage Questions
The range runs wider than most callers expect. These four sort the everyday jobs from the specialist ones.
Call (07) 3067 4272What plumbing work do you handle?
The range runs from dripping taps, running cisterns and bathroom or kitchen jobs through to gas fitting, hidden leak detection, drain clearing and both hot water repair and replacement work.
Can you clear a drain that keeps blocking?
Yes, and when the same line blocks again a CCTV drain inspection shows whether a shifted joint, grease or roots are behind it, so the fix targets the real cause.
Do you hold a gasfitting licence?
The QBCC licence covers plumbing and drainage plus gasfitting, so cooktops, heaters, bayonet points and instant hot water units all fall inside the work we are licensed to do here.
Which pipes are mine and which are Unitywater's?
Unitywater owns the street mains for water and sewer, while the property's responsibility starts at the connection point and covers all private pipe work, which is what we quote.
Emergency Questions
When water is running where it should not, the next few minutes matter more than paperwork. Here is what counts as urgent and what to do first.
Call (07) 3067 4272What counts as a plumbing emergency?
Water pouring somewhere it should not, a burst pipe soaking a ceiling, a toilet spilling over, a house with no hot water at all, or any smell of gas inside.
What should I do before help arrives?
Turn the water off at the meter if a pipe or hose has split, and if gas is the problem leave the property and ring from outside, never from inside.
Can you get here the same day?
Same-day where we can, and a call early in the day gives you the best shot at a visit that day, so ring (07) 3067 4272 and we will tell you where you stand.
My rental has no hot water. Who arranges it?
Under Queensland tenancy law a dead hot water service counts as an urgent repair the landlord must organise, so let your property manager know, and our written quote will go to them first.
Local Pipe Conditions Questions
These estates have their own habits when it comes to pipes. Three local answers, then the booking one.
Call (07) 3067 4272Why do flexi hoses burst in these estates?
Homes handed over during the 2010s building rush often carry their original braided hoses, and after a decade the sheath can hide corrosion until the hose lets go under a vanity.
Does summer rain overload the drains here?
Council maps overland flow paths across parts of the estates, so a fierce summer burst can sheet across lots and load yard pits and downpipe connections before the street system catches up.
Is the tap water hard or soft?
Unitywater puts the local supply in the middle band rather than the hard class, so scale builds slowly and failures come from worn elements and valves rather than mineral crust.
How do I book a plumber in Griffin?
Call (07) 3067 4272 with what is going wrong and where in Griffin, and we will ask a few quick questions, agree a written price with you and set a time that suits your day.
